Patronyme rare aujourd'hui, rencontré dans le Cher et les Côtes-d'Armor. Les solutions sont tellement nombreuses qu'il me semble impossible de trouver la bonne. Soit il s'agit d'un dérivé de "loi", surnom donné à un homme de loi ou à un chicanier, soit on a affaire à une agglutination de "l'oyard", celui qui vend des oies, ou encore celui qui écoute (du verbe ouïr). Soit enfin il peut s'agir d'un éventuel nom de personne d'origine germanique, *Hlodhard (hlod = louange, renommée + hard = dur).
